This position requires a strong foundation in managing orthopedic and neuro spine patients in a fast-paced environment. Job Details Shifts: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15) Contract Length: Available for 20+ week contracts through February 27, 2027. Required Ratio: Expect a nurse-to-patient ratio of 5-6:1, with the possibility of flexing to 7:1 in extreme cases. Weekends: Every other weekend is required. If a nurse calls out on a weekend, they will be required to make up that time on a weekend. Float Requirement: Travelers may be required to float to any other medical surgical unit within the facility based on staffing needs. Call Requirement: None. Patient Population The average daily census is 37 patients with a total of 39 beds. The population includes: Orthopedic patients Neuro spine patients Medical-surgical patients Post-surgical patients Note: Covid patients are integrated into general patient care; specific Covid units are no longer in place. Requirements Minimum Experience: 2 years of nursing experience, with a focus on orthopedic care. Traveler Experience: Open to first-time travelers who have Epic experience. Skills Required: IV start and telemetry. Certifications Required: BCLS NIH Preferred Skills and Certifications: ACLS Charge Nurse Experience Level I Trauma Experience Special Procedures/Unit Details This is a fast-paced unit focused on orthopedic and spine patients, requiring nurses to effectively manage pain and provide excellent patient care.
