Travel Med Surg/Tele RN - $2,000 per week
About the Role
Alliance Services, Inc. is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Macon, Georgia.
Responsibilities
- Care for patients with acute or chronic disease, post-op surgeries, and co-morbidities common to med-surg population including diabetes, hypertension, infections, CHF, and electrolyte imbalances
- Perform trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, Glucommander, insulin drips, heparin drips, and drips to titrate heart rate
- Provide IV insertion and care, central line management, wound care, and post-op monitoring
- Conduct cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation
- Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams and handle discharge planning responsibilities
- Float to all adult med-surg/telemetry units within the facility as required
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Tele RN experience required
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Required certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and BCR (Basic Cardiac Rhythm) – travelers will be required to pass an EKG competency exam as part of compliance
- ACLS preferred but not required
- Medical-Surgical national certification preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and med-surg nursing skills required for Level 1 Trauma Hospital setting
- Proficiency in IV insertion and care, central line management, wound care, and post-op monitoring
- Cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation required
- EPIC EMR, Alaris IV Pump, Pyxis Med Dispensing, Phillips Monitors, VS3 vital sign monitors, portable vital signs monitors (Dynamap), bladder scanners, portable oxygen systems, external fixators, chest tubes, JP drains, Hemovac drains, Glucommander, PCA pain management, and suction machines
- Scrub color: Navy for RN

- Duration: 12 weeks
- 40 hours per week
- Shift: 8 hours, nights

Facility & Location Details
This facility is a 637-licensed-bed teaching hospital with Level 1 Trauma Designation, housing a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center. The unit consists of 35 beds and operates as a busy but team-oriented environment. Support staff includes CNAs, unit secretaries, charge nurses, a PICC team, discharge nurses, resource team, respiratory therapy, hospitalists, intensivists, and a Central Telemetry Unit, all available around the clock to support patient care. Patient ratio of 1:4-6 for RN and LPN, with 2-3 CNAs per shift.
