Travel Med Surg / Tele RN - $1,704 per week

About the role

We're looking for Medical Surgical RNs for an immediate travel nurse opening in Conroe, TX. The right RN should have 1–2 years recent acute care experience. As a MedSurg RN, you will conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs. MedSurg RNs perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician. Documenting patient findings and providing education and support to patients' families is essential to this travel nurse position.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during examination and treatment of patient.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician.

Requirements

• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• 2 years recent acute care experience
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment

Qualifications

• Able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean and stoop without difficulty
• Able to easily lift 20 pounds
• Moving or lifting of patients may require lifting up to 50 pounds at times
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment treating patients that may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative

Schedule

• Shift: 12 hours, nights
• 36 hours per week
• Duration: 6 weeks

Pay

Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
