Travel Med Surg Tele Float RN - $3,295 per week

About the role

Travel RN – ICU / Stepdown / Med‑Surg Float Pool position in Parkersburg, West Virginia. Specialty: Stepdown. Discipline: RN. Start date: 11/02/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Employment type: Travel. 48 hours per week, 12‑hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• 12‑hour shifts (7:00 AM–7:30 PM or 7:00 PM–7:30 AM)
• 48 guaranteed hours per week
• Every other weekend
• Holidays as needed
• Float across inpatient units based on competency
• EPIC charting
• Wear royal blue scrubs
• No scheduled call; standby possible during low census
• Maintain unit‑specific patient ratios:
  • Med‑Surg: 1:6
  • Stepdown: 1:4–5
  • ICU: 1:1–3
• Care for patient populations: Cardiac, Ortho, Neuro, Surgical & Medical

Requirements

• Med‑Surg experience required
• Stepdown experience preferred
• AHA BLS
• AHA ACLS
• BSN not required
• Must be comfortable floating between units within competency

Skills

• Drip titration in Stepdown (common drips: Heparin, Cardizem, Nitro, Cardene, Insulin, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Esmolol, Lidocaine, and others)
• CPAP / BiPAP across all units
• Ventilators in ICU; chronic trach vents may be in Stepdown
• Telemetry monitoring with monitor tech support
• CVU nurses interpret their own telemetry strips

Staffing & Support

• 24/7 House Supervisor
• Free Charge RN on weekday day shifts
• Nursing assistants available
• Existing float pool of 9 RNs with PCT float support
• Daily unit assignment provided through staffing office
