Travel Med/Surg RN - Behavioral Health - $1,827 per week

NuWest Travel Nursing is seeking an experienced Med/Surg Registered Nurse with Behavioral Health experience for a 13-week travel contract in Birmingham, AL.

About the Role

Provide specialized care for medical-surgical patients who also present with behavioral health needs (MPIU-PM unit). This position involves 12-hour night shifts for a 13-week contract.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care to medical-surgical patients requiring specialized behavioral health support.
• Perform ongoing patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and implement comprehensive nursing care plans.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and clinical treatments safely and accurately.
• Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team of physicians, psychiatrists, and allied health staff.
• Document clinical progress, respond to status changes, and advocate for patient safety and well-being.

Requirements

• Active RN License (Alabama or eNLC Compact License in hand).
• Certifications: Current BLS required.
• Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of recent Med/Surg, Behavioral Health, or Psych experience preferred.

Schedule

• 3x12-hour night shifts per week.
• 13-week contract duration.

Pay

Pay range: $1,585.64 – $1,865.46 per week.
