Travel Med Surg RN - $2,196 per week

About the role

ARMStaffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a 13‑week contract in Oakland, Maryland. The unit has 32 beds (currently operating at 20 due to staffing) and cares for patients with CHF, pneumonia, abdominal pain, pancreatitis, orthopedic issues, detox, and post‑operative surgical cases. The role does not involve laboring mothers or titrating cardiac or insulin drips.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient‑centered nursing care for diverse medical/surgical conditions.
• Conduct assessments and implement appropriate interventions.
• Work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Assist with CPAP and BiPap systems while working alongside respiratory therapists.
• Participate in unit orientation and education initiatives.
• Float as needed to assist other units as a tasker or extra set of hands.

Requirements

• Strong background in medical‑surgical nursing.
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS are mandatory.
• PALS is recommended but not required.
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records is essential.
• Prior travel experience in a similar role is preferred.

Schedule

Start date: 11/09/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Hours: 36 per week. Shift: 12‑hour day shift from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM. Weekend shifts required every other weekend. Block scheduling preferences can be discussed with the manager.
