Travel Med Surg RN - $2,180 per week
Job Details
RN (Registered Nurse) for a Hospital contract in Oakland, MD. Setting: Hospital. Contract Length: 13 weeks. Candidate Type: Traveler.
Schedule
- 12-hour shifts, 6:45 - 7:15
- Extra shifts may be available; manager will make schedule
- If traveler has preferences, manager is open to working with block scheduling
- Weekend requirement every other weekend - required
- Night shift is Friday, Saturday, Sunday
- Holiday rotation with regular staff
- Floating is required; medsurg frequently floats to assist other units as tasker or extra set of hands
Requirements
- BLS required
- NIHSS required for all RNs and LPNs
- ACLS and PALS recommended but not required
- Strong medsurg background due to variety of patients
- Must have experience with diverse patient types and conditions
- Ability to read tele monitor strips on ICU monitors
- Certification in BLS and NIHSS are required
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients on a Med/Surg unit with a variety of diagnoses including CP, CHF, pneumonia, abdominal pain, pancreatitis, ortho, detox, post-op surgery, and pediatric patients
- Utilize Cpap and Bipap machines, along with high flow and vent management, with RT assistance
- Follow nurse-to-patient ratios no more than 5
- Float to assist other units as needed, adapting to various patient care situations
- Maintain documentation and assist in patient assessments and interventions
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure quality patient care
- Participate in unit orientation, medication training, pharmacy, and lab procedures during 3-5 days of training
