Travel Med Surg RN - $2,068 per week
About the role
Malone Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN for a 13-week assignment in Med Surg / Telemetry at a 34-bed unit in Franklin, Indiana. This position offers 36 hours per week on night shifts (12 hours, 6:00 PM–6:30 AM) with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6.
Unit Details
- 34-bed Medical Surgical unit
- Patient population includes: pneumonia (PNA), COPD, CHF, orthopedic cases (hips, knees, shoulders), appendectomy, cholecystectomy, diverticulitis, bowel resection, and pancreatitis
- No titratable drips required; heparin protocol used
- Remote telemetry monitoring with Monitor Tech interpreting rhythms
- Chronic CPAP/BiPAP patients
- Support staff: Charge Nurse on both shifts, Night Supervisor, PCT support (up to 1:12 ratio)
Responsibilities
- Weekend rotation (approximately 4 weekend shifts every 6 weeks)
- Holiday rotation
- May be placed on call if canceled (45-minute return time)
- Floating within Med Surg scope only
- Self-scheduling when staffing allows; no blocked scheduling requests
Requirements
- BLS certification
- NIHSS certification
- Recent Med Surg, PCU, Telemetry, or CCU experience
Orientation & Dress Code
- 1 clinical education shift + 2 precepted unit shifts
- Navy blue scrubs required
