Travel Med Surg RN - $1,828 per week

About the Role

TotalMed is seeking a Medical Surgical RN for a travel nursing opportunity in Pulaski, TN. This 13-week night shift position requires 36 hours per week, with 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients
• Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment
• Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs
• Prepare equipment and aid physicians during examination and treatment of patients
• Educate patients on surgical procedures
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans as prescribed by physicians
• Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs
• Perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician
• Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients' families

Requirements

• 1–2 years recent acute care experience
• BLS certification
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time; bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty
• Ability to easily lift 20 pounds; moving or lifting patients may require lifting up to 50 pounds at times
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with patients who may be confused, agitated, or uncooperative
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment
