Travel Med Surg RN - $1,755 per week

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Vicksburg, Mississippi. The position is for a Medical Surgical RN with an immediate opening. The ideal candidate should have 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs.
• Perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician.
• Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients' families.
• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre‑ and post‑op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and aid the physician during examination and treatment of the patient.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans as prescribed by the physician.
• Stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean and stoop without difficulty.
• Lift up to 20 pounds routinely; moving or lifting patients may require up to 50 pounds at times.
• Work in a fast‑paced environment treating patients that may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative.

Requirements

• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• NIH certification
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience (1‑2 years preferred)
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.

Duration: 13 weeks. Shift: 12 hours, days. Hours per week: 36 hours.
