Travel Med Surg RN - $1,700 per week

About the role

Travel nurse RN position in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at a 275‑bed community hospital near downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee. The unit is a 30‑bed PCU with a 1:5‑6 nurse‑to‑patient ratio and PCT support, managing Heparin, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, and Amiodarone drips, chest tube care, wound‑vac therapy, and EKG monitoring. The hospital provides cardiovascular surgery, cancer treatment, intensive care, orthopedic and spine surgery, and rehabilitation services.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 30‑bed PCU.
• Manage Heparin, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, and Amiodarone infusions.
• Oversee chest tube placement and maintenance.
• Administer wound‑vac therapy.
• Perform and interpret EKG monitoring.
• Collaborate with PCT support staff and maintain a 1:5‑6 staffing ratio.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or equivalent.
• Social Security Number and Date of Birth required for credentialing.
• No more than 90 days of employment gap in the past year.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Meditech electronic health record system.
• Familiarity with the facility’s location and services.

Skills

• Progressive care nursing.
• Management of vasoactive drips (Heparin, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Amiodarone).
• Chest tube and wound‑vac care.
• EKG interpretation.
• Ability to work 12‑hour day shifts, 36 hours per week.

Pay

Pay rate: $1,657.00 – $1,742.00 per week (based on 12‑hour shifts, 36 hours per week). Tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.

Schedule

36 hours per week, 12‑hour day shifts.
