Travel Med Surg RN - $1,642 per week

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Weatherford, Texas. We're looking for Medical Surgical RNs for an immediate travel nurse opening in Weatherford, TX. The right RN should have 1-2 years recent acute care experience. Specialty: Med Surg; Discipline: RN; Duration: 13 weeks; Employment Type: Travel.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs.
• Perform ongoing assessments and provide appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician.
• Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients' families.
• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-operative patients.
• Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and assist the physician during examination and treatment of patients.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans as prescribed by the physician.
• Stand and walk for long periods of time, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Easily lift 20 pounds; moving or lifting patients may require lifting up to 50 pounds at times.
• Work in a fast‑paced environment treating patients that may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative.

Requirements

• Current BLS certification.
• 1‑2 years of recent acute care (medical‑surgical) experience.
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.

Schedule

Position requires 36 hours per week, 12‑hour night shifts, for a 13‑week assignment.
