About the role
The Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for applying nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients and families. They will assess patient and family needs, develop individualized care plans, advocate for and protect patients' health, safety, and rights, educate patients and families for post-hospitalization self-care, document patient education and responses, engage in quality improvement activities, and foster meaningful connections with patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient and family needs through active listening and observation.
- Develop individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients and healthcare team members.
- Advocate for and protect patients' health, safety, and rights.
- Educate patients and families for post-hospitalization self-care.
- Document patient education and responses to ensure continuity of care.
- Engage in quality improvement activities to enhance nursing practice.
- Foster meaningful connections with patients and their families.
- Administer medications and interventions as needed.
Requirements
- New York State RN Licensure required.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA or RQI only).
- NIHSS certification required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Passing score on the NCLEX-RN.

Pay & Schedule
- Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation).
- Tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
Schedule
3 shifts of 12 hours each, with day and night shifts required. Additionally, 2 on-call shifts are expected within a 4-week period, including weekends and holidays.
