ARMStaffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Geneva, New York. This is a 13-week contract position with a rotating shift schedule.

Schedule

• 3x12s day/night shift variable (scheduled)
• Includes 2 on-call shifts in 4 weeks
• Holidays required
• 36 hours per week

Job Description

The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high quality compassionate care to patients and families. The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient needs, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates care delivery throughout the patient's episode. The RN develops specialized skills in the area of care for patients admitted with medical conditions, providing care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations. The RN is responsible for patient and family education to assist in understanding self-care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes to support health and healing.

Responsibilities

• Apply nursing knowledge and skills in the delivery of care
• Assess patient/family needs through active listening and social perceptiveness, creating individualized plans of care
• Promote, advocate for, and protect the health, safety, and rights of the patient
• Teach patients and families to ensure continuity of care at home post-discharge
• Systematically evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and engage in self-evaluation for professional development
• Develop trusting relationships with patients and families, focusing on their needs and creating a Healing Environment
• Administer medications and perform clinical interventions as required

Requirements

• NYS RN licensure
• BLS, ACLS (AHA or RQI only), and NIHSS certifications
• At least 2 years of Med/Surg experience
