Unit and Patient Populations
The Medical Care Unit serves less acute patients awaiting placement to long-term care facilities and may include a variety of medical diagnoses. The unit is shared with Inpatient Rehab, and nurses may float between the two units. Inpatient Rehab is a designated unit for intense rehab services.
Patient populations served include Geriatric, Medical/Surgical, Adult, Telemetry, and Psychiatric issues.
Responsibilities
- Deliver care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation in coordination with other health team members.
- Effectively interact with the patient, significant others, and other health team members while maintaining high standards of professional nursing.
- Occasionally be placed on call during periods of low census; if called in, respond and arrive on-site within one hour.
Requirements
- Telemetry experience preferred.
- EPIC EMR experience in a like unit within the last 12 months required.
