Travel MCU RN - $1,447 per week

About the Role

The Medical Care Unit at this facility serves patients who are less acute and may be awaiting placement in a long-term care facility. These patients present with a variety of medical diagnoses. The unit is shared with Inpatient Rehab, and nurses may be required to float between the two units. Inpatient Rehab is a designated unit for intense rehabilitation services. Telemetry experience is preferred.

This role involves delivering care to patients using the nursing process—assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation—in coordination with other healthcare team members. The nurse will effectively interact with patients, significant others, and the healthcare team while maintaining high standards of professional nursing.

High-quality care is provided to the following patient populations: Geriatric, Medical/Surgical, Adult, Telemetry, and Psychiatric. While the traveler will not be part of a regular call rotation, they may occasionally be placed on call during periods of low census. If called in, the traveler must be able to respond and arrive on-site within one hour.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
• Coordinate care with other healthcare team members.
• Provide high-quality nursing care to geriatric, medical/surgical, adult, telemetry, and psychiatric patient populations.
• Float between the Medical Care Unit and Inpatient Rehab as needed.
• Respond to occasional on-call requests during low census periods, arriving on-site within one hour if called in.

Requirements

• Active RN license.
• Telemetry experience preferred.
• EPIC EMR experience in a similar unit within the last 12 months (required).
• Ability to provide care to diverse patient populations, including geriatric, medical/surgical, adult, telemetry, and psychiatric patients.

Schedule

• Duration: 13 weeks.
• Hours: 24 hours per week.
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts.
