Wellspring Nurse Source is seeking a travel Mammography Technologist for a travel job in Lenoir, North Carolina. Start date: 10/26/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. 40 hours per week. The Mammography Technologist performs a variety of diagnostic and screening procedures related to mammography in the field of radiologic and breast imaging. This role includes the preparation and administration of contrast media and medications in compliance with state and federal guidelines, as well as conducting patient assessments and providing instruction for self‑breast examination.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe and appropriate environment for procedures, including equipment checks, cleanliness, and appropriate stocking of supplies.
• Utilize technical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment and protocol issues actively.
• Document incidents and communicate opportunities for improvement to the supervisor.
• Verify patient demographics, emulsion markers, and examination requests.
• Critique, orient, and save all pertinent images, ensuring transmission to PACS.
• Maintain image management equipment and report any problems to appropriate channels.
• Utilize the PACS system to obtain additional study data.
• Evaluate patient understanding and consent for procedures, taking their condition into account.
• Adapt procedure plans based on patient needs and provide appropriate instruction in self‑breast examination.
• Assess patients' physical conditions and create action plans for examinations.
• Determine if additional medical personnel or equipment are necessary and act accordingly.
