ADB is seeking a Laborer to provide entry-level outside plant (OSP) installation support on various utility construction project sites. This is a great position for anyone looking to enter the utility construction space within the telecommunications industry. The ideal candidate will be customer and quality-centric, have a complete buy-in to safety, a strong work ethic, and an ALL IN attitude to achieve results.

Responsibilities

  • Performs general manual strenuous labor in all weather conditions, including but not limited to hand digging, installing utilities, moving material, inspecting ground conditions, and ensuring traffic control.
  • Supports crew with jobsite setup and closeout tasks, such as loading and unloading trucks, taking photos, setting up cones and traffic signs, and prepping equipment.
  • Basic level equipment operations, including operating directional drills, mini excavators, hydro trucks, etc., with constant guidance from an experienced operator.
  • Consistently meets production expectations set by experienced Laborers, Foremen, and/or members of management.
  • Takes initiative and actively engages in training alongside experienced Laborers and Operators to learn installations, print reading, and equipment operations.
  • Basic ability to read prints and construction drawings.
  • General understanding and comfortability with safety risks while working in a safety-sensitive position.
  • Ensures company and customer property cleanliness and quality standards are met within expectations set by experienced Laborers, Foremen, and/or members of management.
  • Adheres to safety culture and expectations by actively participating in pre-task planning, reporting good catches, and safety assessments.
  • Performs other position duties when requested.

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience preferred but willing to train and invest in the right candidate.
  • Proven experience working in a manual labor environment in outside weather conditions strongly preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to drive a company vehicle strongly preferred.
  • Class A CDL License strongly preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

Work Environment

  • Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, including sitting, squatting, standing, walking, and climbing.
  • May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels while onsite.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position; when working onsite, will be required to wear common protective or safety equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, and steel-toed boots.

Pay

The starting pay for this position is $20.00 an hour and may vary based on the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.
