Travel Labor & Delivery RN - $2,682 per week

About the role

AMN Healthcare Nursing is seeking a Travel Registered Nurse (RN) for Labor & Delivery at a hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia. The facility features private birthing rooms with whirlpool tubs and a Level II Special Care Nursery. You will work with physicians, midwives, nurses, lactation consultants, and volunteer doulas to support patient preferences such as natural birth, pain management, skin‑to‑skin contact, and delayed cord clamping.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients and newborns.
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, lactation consultants, and doulas to develop and implement individualized birth plans.
• Assess patients continuously, monitor fetal and maternal status, and intervene as needed.
• Document care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, postpartum care, and newborn care.
• Support patient preferences for natural birth, pain management options, skin‑to‑skin contact, and delayed cord clamping.

Requirements

• Active RN license.
• Minimum 2 years experience in Labor & Delivery.
• Strong skills in patient assessment, communication, and collaboration.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Ability to work 12‑hour night shifts.

Qualifications

• Required: BLS‑AHA certification; CERT‑Adv. FHM.
• Required: Willingness to work holidays, weekends, and float as needed.
• Required: Scrub color navy blue.
• Preferred: Compact RN license (in‑hand).
• Preferred: Previous travel nursing experience.
• Preferred: Experience with EPIC EMR.
• Preferred: LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) experience.

Pay

Pay rate: $2,615.00 – $2,749.00 (subject to confirmation). Tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.

Schedule

• Start date: 10/26/2026.
• Duration: 13 weeks.
• Shift: 12‑hour nights.
• Total hours: 36 hours per week.
