• 3 weekend shifts per 4 week schedule minimum
• May float to ED or MS if experienced

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• BLS
• NRP
• Intermediate or advanced Fetal Monitoring

Number of Beds

• 7 L&D beds
• 2 Triage beds
• 10 Postpartum beds

Weekend Requirement

3 weekend shifts per 4 week schedule minimum

Floating Requirement

• May float to ED or MS if experienced

Experiences and Skills

• 2 years of experience required
• Respiratory Therapist in unit 24/7
• Support staff on unit: Patient Care Technician, Health Unit Secretary
• Nurse manager occasionally see patients (when needed)
• Need experience with:
• C-section experience required
• Support staff on unit: OB scrub tech, HUC
• Call: one shift per 4 week schedule
• Must be proficient in fetal monitoring and the actions taken for fetal distress
• Must be able to care for patients with pre-eclampsia
• Clinical background in high risk patients
• May float to other units of hospital (usually MedSurg) if needed
• Must be able to function in L&D and couplet care (they don't always utilize their LDRPs as couplet care beds, but can do so if census is low)
