Unit Details
- Experience required: 3–5 years (first-time travelers considered upon review)
- Patient Types: Antepartum, postpartum, GYN surgeries, L&D > 35 weeks
- Patient Ratios: Laboring – 1:1; Couplets mixed with antepartum/surgical – 1:3
- Support on Unit: Charge nurse takes patients as needed; RN draws blood; FHM at bedside and nurse's station (no tele); Resource Nurse; RT; Obstetrician has 30-minute call-back time
- Charting System/Equipment: EPIC, Alaris IV pump, Pyxis
- Floating: May float to inpatient units as sitter or in CNA role
- Orientation: At least one shift to learn flow
- Scheduling: Weekend rotation every other; on-call varies based on contract; up to 7 days time off may be approved
- Scrub Color: Any color
- Parking: Yellow lines in front of building or by emergency department
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 2 years RN in LD/LDRP (compact license accepted; copy needed)
- Certifications: BLS, NRP, FHM (NRP copy needed)
- On-call: Required
- Weekends: Every other
- References: 1 reference within last 12 months (2 years preferred; 3–5 years LDRP preferred)
- Additional: Skills checklist within 12 months; SSN and DOB required
