About the role

Labor and Delivery Nurse in Seattle, Washington. This position involves providing high-acuity patient care in a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery department. The role requires delivering exceptional maternity and neonatal care, functioning as a Baby Nurse during deliveries, and maintaining adherence to hospital protocols and safety standards.

Schedule

• Nights shift, 12 hours per shift
• Minimum 48 hours per week
• Schedule aligned with unit needs every 6 weeks

Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity obstetric and neonatal care
• Function as a Baby Nurse during deliveries
• Circulate and provide newborn care, including eyes and thigh assessments, Vitamin K injections, and initial evaluations
• Float to postpartum and antepartum care, as well as sister facilities supporting Mother/Baby units
• Adhere to hospital protocols, safety standards, and AWHONN guidelines
• Utilize EPIC electronic fetal monitoring

Requirements

• Valid state RN license
• 3-5 years of experience in high-acuity obstetric and neonatal care
• Current certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, and AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate
• High-risk obstetric experience
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with electronic fetal monitoring
• Certification in advanced obstetric and neonatal procedures
• Previous experience in high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery settings

Pay

Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 48 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
