Labor and Delivery Nurse (L & D) The organization is seeking a qualified RN to provide specialized nursing care in the Labor and Delivery Department. This role involves managing goal-directed care for laboring patients using the nursing process and principles of primary nursing, adhering to hospital policies and standards of practice. The position requires delivering compassionate patient care during nights on 12-hour shifts at an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Utilizing equipment such as Meditech, OBIX, Pyxis Supply Stations, bedside fetal monitors
• Adhering to departmental policies
• Managing goal-directed care for laboring patients using the nursing process and principles of primary nursing
• Delivering compassionate patient care during nights on 12-hour shifts
• Float rotation may be required
• Orientation includes 3 days of Meditech and OBIX training, plus unit-specific onboarding
• The unit comprises 4 Labor, Delivery, and Postpartum rooms, and 5 Nursery beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratio aligns with national standards based on patient needs and labor progression

Requirements

• Active Alaska State RN license
