Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse - $2,835 per week

About the Role

Cross Country Nurses is seeking a Travel Nurse RN for a Labor and Delivery position in Exeter, New Hampshire. This role involves providing specialized care in a Level 2 maternity unit, focusing on maternal-child health, newborns, and occasional age-appropriate medical-surgical patients. The position requires working 12-hour night shifts with a minimum of 36 hours per week.

The unit is a 19-bed L&D, mother-baby, and pediatrics unit handling approximately 600 deliveries annually. The facility performs cesarean sections on-site and delivers babies from 35 weeks gestation and up, including Level 2 maternity and Level 1 nursery care.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized care in labor and delivery, postpartum, and pediatrics
• Circulate during procedures (scrub skills optional)
• Utilize advanced monitoring and delivery equipment, including fetal monitoring (Phillips), IV pumps, ICU medical Plum 360, epidural and PCA pumps, and glucometers
• Follow unit-specific protocols such as IV management, RN bedside ultrasound for presentation, epidural catheter removal post-delivery, and phlebotomy
• Work every third weekend as required
• Be available for call depending on patient census and clinical need

Requirements

• Valid NH or compact state nursing license
• Experience with labor and delivery (L&D), postpartum, and pediatrics
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system
• Current BLS-AHA, ACLS-AHA, and NRP certifications
• Highly preferred: Clinical Evaluation Form for Maternal-Fetal Medicine (C-EFM)
• No gel or fake nails permitted

Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts
• Minimum 36 hours per week
• Scheduling done in 6-week periods with no self-scheduling
• Orientation includes two days
• Navy blue scrubs provided
