About the role
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse (RN) – Nationwide Contracts
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Administer medications and IVs, including epidurals and Pitocin
- Support families during life-changing moments
- Manage emergencies such as preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or fetal distress
- Assist physicians and midwives during childbirth
- Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs throughout labor and delivery
- Education and support on birth plans and newborn care
Requirements
- Active RN license (Compact license preferred)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; NRP and fetal monitoring certification preferred
- Minimum 1–2 years of recent L&D nursing experience
- Strong knowledge of obstetric protocols and fetal monitoring interpretation
- Calm, confident decision-making in fast-paced, high-pressure situations
