The nurse will utilize the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—to ensure optimal patient outcomes, coordinate care effectively, and communicate pertinent information to the healthcare team. The position requires active participation in finding solutions for patient care variances and ensuring the implementation of necessary actions.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership and high-quality patient care in the Labor and Delivery department
Utilize the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Coordinate care and communicate effectively with the healthcare team
Participate in resolving patient care variances and implementing necessary actions
Develop effective nursing care plans using clinical knowledge and analytical abilities
Perform a variety of professional nursing services and communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel

Requirements

Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing
BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications (required)
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
At least 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
Post-Partum experience (required)
