Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse - $2,370 per week

Job Summary

Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) in Lewiston, ME. This role involves caring for obstetrical patients within a busy maternity unit, with responsibilities including triage of obstetrical patients, monitoring fetal well-being, assisting with vaginal and Cesarean births, and providing postpartum care.

Required Qualifications

• Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Basic Life Support (BLS)
• A minimum of two years experience in labor and delivery, mother/baby care, or postpartum nursing
• Experience with external fetal heart monitoring (EFM), peripheral IV placement, administering antihypertensives and insulin drips, assisting with vaginal and Cesarean deliveries, performing newborn assessments, and postpartum procedures
• Ability to manage a caseload of three obstetrical couples

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced certifications such as ACLS and AWHONN Intermediate
• Experience in Level 1 Nursery or mother/baby units and circulating for Cesarean sections

Job Details

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, days from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (3x12s), with a minimum of 36 hours per week

Additional Information

• This position involves caring for neonates and adults, using equipment such as Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM), infant warmers, and radiant heater systems
• The unit census varies from 3 to 24 patients, with a patient ratio of approximately 1:6

Pay Package

The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
