About the role
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) position in the department of Labor and Delivery (L&D).
Responsibilities
- Maintain patient safety and quality care through adherence to the Nursing Process, AWHONN Staffing Standards, and applicable regulations.
- Monitor laboring patients, communicate with providers, circulate in the operating room for cesarean sections, and support newborn resuscitation in a fast-paced environment.
- Work 36 hours per week, 12 hours shifts, nights, with scheduled weekends and floating between departments in the Women's Pavilion.
- Pass an EKG and maintain shift accountability.
Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications.
- At least 2+ years of experience in labor and delivery.
- Experience in 2+ previous travel assignments in labor and delivery.
- Ability to pass an EKG.
- Willingness to float between departments.
- Meet general clinical competencies for obstetrical nursing.
Qualifications
- CPN certification (preferred).
- Cerner electronic medical record system experience (preferred).
Skills
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of obstetrical nursing practices and procedures.
