The ideal candidate will have experience in a variety of labor and delivery procedures and patient care requirements. Below are the job details and requirements: Job Details Ratios: 1:2, with 21 rooms/beds Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Night shifts, 18:45 - 07:15 Hours: Options for 36 or 48 hours per week RTO: Maximum of 7 days for Aya Auto Offer Float Requirement: Travelers will float within Women's Services Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Patient Care Responsibilities As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will provide care for patients presenting with various pregnancy-related diagnoses. Responsibilities include: Managing labor inductions and deliveries Handling high-risk pregnancies including preterm labor, multiple gestations, and preeclampsia Performing and assisting with epidurals and circulatory duties in the operating room Recovering patients from C-sections Administering multiple intravenous drips such as Pitocin, magnesium, and insulin Offering resuscitation for patients 22 weeks and above Required Skills and Certifications To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements: Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery First-time travelers are accepted Experience with EPIC system, IV start, and circulation is required Certifications: BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP Experience with 400 births per month or more is preferred Unit Information The Labor and Delivery unit features: Special Procedures: Labor inductions, IUFDs, nitrous oxide, and amnio infusions Special Equipment: Epidural pumps, PCAs, Alaris pumps, and fluid warmers Unit Systems: PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR Additional Information Unit orientation includes EPIC training, with 2 days spent on the unit and 2 half-days in the OR.
