Travel Labor and Delivery RN - $3,014 per week

About the Role

Pulse Healthcare Services is seeking a travel RN for Labor and Delivery in Brownwood, Texas. The assignment is a 13‑week contract starting 10/5/2026, 48 hours per week on a 12‑hour night shift (4 × 12 hrs, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM).

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience
• Active Texas or Compact RN license at submission
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• NRP, AWHONN, and fetal monitoring experience/certification
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• COVID‑19 vaccine not required
• Travel experience preferred
• Altera/Allscripts charting experience preferred (not required)
• No local RN/LVN candidates within 150 miles
• Previous permanent employees must have been away ≥1 year before returning as a traveler
• Resume, license, and certification verification required
• Clinicians must complete required labs within 72 hours of accepting an offer or have a completion plan

Unit Details

• Level II Maternal Facility with Level II NICU
• 6 beds / 5 rooms
• Average daily census: 1–5 patients
• Patient ratio approximately 1:2
• Self‑scheduling
• Adult patient population
• 80 hours of orientation
• 6 weekend shifts required within a 6‑week period
• One pre‑approved time‑off request allowed
• Facility may care for gestational ages 34 weeks and above

Experience Preferred / Responsibilities

• Active labor, antepartum and L&D triage
• Labor induction and augmentation
• Vaginal deliveries
• Primary and repeat C‑sections, including circulating, scrubbing, and recovery
• External and internal fetal monitoring, NSTs and IUPC placement
• Pitocin and magnesium sulfate therapy
• Postpartum hemorrhage management
• Pregnancy‑induced hypertension care
• Epidural anesthesia assistance
• Multiple births
• Newborn assessment and APGAR scoring; mother/baby and couplet care
• Breastfeeding/lactation support
• Recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Blood and blood product administration
• IV pumps, drips, and medication monitoring

Pay

• Taxable rate: $34.00 per hour
• Overtime rate: $51.00 per hour
• Lodging stipend: $770 per week
• Meals & incidentals: $476 per week
• Total weekly stipend: $1,246
