  • Hours: 48 hours/week
  • Start Date: 10/5/2026
  • Taxable Rate: $34.00/hr
  • Overtime Rate: $51.00/hr
  • Lodging Stipend: $770/week
  • Meals & Incidentals: $476/week
  • Total Weekly Stipend: $1,246/week

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience
  • Active TX or Compact RN license in hand at submission
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NRP
  • AWHONN fetal monitoring experience/certification
  • Travel experience preferred
  • Altera/Allscripts charting experience preferred, but not required
  • Flu vaccine required; medical/religious exemptions only
  • COVID-19 vaccine not required
  • No local RN/LVN candidates within 150 miles
  • Previous permanent employees must have been away from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Resume, license and certification verification required with submission
  • Clinicians must be available to complete required labs within 72 hours of accepting an offer or have a completion plan in place

Unit details

  • Level II Maternal Facility
  • Level II NICU
  • 6 beds / 5 rooms
  • Average daily census: 1–5
  • Patient ratio: approximately 1:2
  • Self-scheduling
  • Adult patient population
  • 80 hours of orientation
  • 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week period
  • One pre-approved time-off request allowed
  • Facility may care for gestational ages 34 weeks and above

Experience preferred

Candidates should be comfortable with:

  • Active labor, antepartum and L&D triage
  • Labor induction and augmentation
  • Vaginal deliveries
  • Primary and repeat C-sections
  • Circulating, scrubbing and recovery for C-sections
  • External and internal fetal monitoring
  • NSTs and IUPC placement
  • Pitocin and magnesium sulfate therapy
  • Postpartum hemorrhage
  • Pregnancy-induced hypertension
  • Epidural anesthesia
  • Multiple births
  • Newborn assessment and APGAR scoring
  • Mother/Baby and couplet care
  • Breastfeeding/lactation support
  • Recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
  • Blood and blood product administration
  • IV pumps, drips and medication monitoring
  • Approximately 6–8 hours of non-billable modules completed during orientation
