Travel Labor and Delivery RN - $2,462 per week
About the Role
Travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery position in Salem, Massachusetts. This is a 13-week assignment with 36 hours per week, primarily night shifts (12 hours). The role involves rotating between day, evening, and night shifts with one night of call and every other weekend (EOW), totaling 36 or 48 hours per week.
Unit: Labor & Delivery/Post Partum Unit. The 25-bed unit includes Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Newborn Nursery (NBN), 2 Operating Rooms (ORs), 2 Recovery Rooms (RRs), and 2 Antepartum/Newborn Unit (ANU) rooms.
- Clinician to Patient Ratio: L&D 1:2-3 for evaluations, 1:1 for active labor, magnesium drip, or epidural; Postpartum 1:3-4.
- Bed Count: 5 LD Rooms, 12 PP, 2 ORs, 2 RR, 2 ANU rooms with 4 beds.
- Average daily census: 15-25 mothers, babies, and labors.
- EMR/Charting System: EPIC.
- No floating required.
Responsibilities
- Provide care in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn settings.
- Circulate in operating rooms as needed.
- Rotate between 7:00am–7:30pm, 11:00am–11:30pm, and 7:00pm–7:30am shifts, including one night of call and every other weekend.
Requirements
- Current Massachusetts RN License.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn Care.
- Certifications: BLS, NRP, and EFM (required every 2 years for L&D).
- AHA ACLS (preferred).
Pay
Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
