Travel Labor and Delivery RN - $2,326 per week

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and flexible Labor & Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment at Mercyhealth FHN Hospital in Freeport, IL. This close-knit, self-staffed unit follows AWHONN staffing guidelines and offers an excellent environment for a nurse who loves providing comprehensive, high-quality maternal-child care!

Facility Details & Unit Highlights

• Facility: Mercyhealth FHN Hospital
• Unit Layout: 7 L&D Beds, 7 Postpartum Beds, 2 Triage Beds, & 1 Dedicated OR Suite
• Volumes: ~255 births annually (Intimate, community-centered care setting)
• Staffing Ratios: Strictly follows AWHONN guidelines
• EFM System: OBIX
• Scrubs: Conveniently hospital-provided! (Must bring waterproof, non-slip shoes)
• Clinical Scope: Manage core L&D cases, including high-risk factors like Preeclampsia, HTN, Gestational Diabetes, and Preterm labor (GA ≥ 32 weeks). Circulate and recover C-sections within the unit's dedicated OR suite. Provide stabilization for newborns and deliver couplet care post-recovery. Titrate critical unit drips, primarily Pitocin and Insulin. Assist with clean GYN surgical patients (abdominal/vaginal hysterectomies).

Requirements

• Minimum 1+ years of recent acute care L&D experience (LDRP cross-training is highly preferred).
• Active Illinois (IL) RN License required at time of submission.
• Required Certifications: BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced.
• Ability to report to the facility within 30 minutes when on scheduled standby/call (call is minimal, approx. 12–24 hours per 6-week schedule block).
• Note: Prior FHN Memorial employees must disclose past employment upon submission.
