The shift will run from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM. The schedule consists of a 5/2 rotation which includes 2 consecutive days of work followed by 2 days off, then 5 days of work followed by 5 days off starting in the second week of the schedule. The first week will be dedicated to orientation. Key Responsibilities Provide care to laboring patients in a supportive and compassionate manner. Monitor patient progress during labor and assist with deliveries. Document patient information and clinical data accurately using OBIX and MedHost electronic medical records (EMR). Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure quality patient care. Respond to emergencies and provide life-saving interventions as necessary. Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or a multistate license. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from AHA. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from AHA. AWHONN certification required at the time of submission. Work Environment The Labor and Delivery Unit is closely connected with the Nursery; however, Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) typically handle the nursery patients while the RN focuses on maternal care during labor. The position is located in Bastrop, a smaller town with ample housing options available in Monroe.
