About the role
The Labor and Delivery unit at the unnamed hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina, is fast-paced and requires nurses to handle a variety of challenging scenarios, with an average of 20 births per 24 hours. This unit supports obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater, providing intrapartum and high-risk antepartum and postpartum care. Nurses will be responsible for circulating in the operating room and performing sterile vaginal exams, alongside competent newborn care.
Responsibilities
- Handle double labor assignments in a high-acuity setting.
- Provide care during scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean births and cervical cerclage procedures.
- Perform antenatal fetal surveillance and other routine outpatient procedures.
- Maintain a 2:1 patient ratio while managing high volumes and acuity levels.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience, with a preference for 3 years in high-volume labor and delivery settings.
- Current RN license.
- Certifications: BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate, NRP; C-EFM will be accepted in lieu of AWHONN certification.

Pay & Schedule
The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
