Job Details

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.

Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Job Requirements

  • Current nursing license verified within 30 days prior to start.
  • Completion of FACIS Questionnaire if any disciplinary actions exist.
  • Professional resume/profile and at least two professional references.
  • Completion of criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and other required checks within 30 days of first assignment.
  • Completion of Ascension Skills Checklist within one year of start; updated annually for specialty.
  • Verification of education relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start.
  • Third-party employment verification for past seven years.
  • Provide legal documentation for any name changes if applicable.

Schedule Information

  • Shift: 06:30 - 19:00
  • Traveler required to work up to 6 weekend shifts and holidays as needed per department needs.

Additional Details

  • Ascension Resume required for submission.
  • Signed Assignment Agreement required for onboarding.
  • Ascension Pharmacology Exam required prior to start and updated every 3 years with minimum 80% score.
  • Ascension Color Vision test completed prior to start and updated every 3 years.
  • Ascension Core Competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics completed within a year of start and updated every 3 years with minimum 80% score.
  • Ascension EKG Exam required with passing score of at least 80%, updated every 3 years.
  • Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation required.
  • Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding done onsite.
  • Ascension Nova StatStrip pre-hire modules required prior to clearance.
  • Ascension Cerner Test-Out required with signed attestation.
  • Ascension Badge Photo required with specific background requirements.
  • Documentation of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG Titer required; no declinations accepted.
  • Fit Test required for all travelers, preferred prior to start, updated annually.
  • Documentation of Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or declination required.
  • Influenza vaccine recommended during flu season; exemptions accepted with mask requirement.
  • Positive PPD requires negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire.
  • Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
  • Driver's License/State ID must be current and match address on file.
  • 2 Step PPD or IGRA required with specific timing prior to start; TB questionnaire updated annually.
  • Documentation of two Varicella vaccines or immunity required; no declinations accepted.
  • Tdap vaccine valid for 10 years required; no declinations accepted.
  • Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start and updated annually.
  • Ascension Confirmation of Assignment required upon initial assignment and updates.
  • Ascension Employment Verification updated annually.
