Aya Healthcare is seeking a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse in Lebanon, PA. This role offers competitive pay and a flexible schedule.
Responsibilities
- Administer blood and blood products
- Manage anticoagulation therapy and antihypertensive medications
- Provide APGAR scores and assist with vaginal deliveries
- Support breastfeeding and provide car seat education
- Perform cesarean sections, epidurals, and other surgical procedures
- Monitor and manage newborns, including neonatal resuscitation and phototherapy
- Implement various treatments such as magnesium sulfate therapy, insulin drips, and isolation precautions
- Collaborate with neonatal intensive care units (NICU)
- Teach parents about infant care and circumcision care
- Manage IVs, infusions, and external fetal monitoring
- Conduct routine assessments and chart patient data using Epic
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and safety guidelines
- Participate in emergency response teams and manage pediatric emergencies
- Provide discharge planning and education to parents
- Document patient progress and communicate with healthcare providers as needed
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in labor and delivery nursing
- Current Pennsylvania license or compact license
- Advanced certifications in neonatal resuscitation (NRP), advanced practice registered nurse (APRN), and basic life support (BLS)
- Experience with charge nurse duties preferred
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of relevant medical terminology and procedures
- Proficiency in computer systems, particularly Epic
