About the Role

Aya Healthcare has an immediate opening for a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse in Seattle, WA. This is a 13-week assignment with a shift from 07:00 to 19:30, 4 days a week.

  • APGAR scores assessment
  • Assist with high-risk and vaginal deliveries
  • Baby Nurse (“Baby Catcher”)
  • Breastfeeding/lactation support
  • Cesarean Section (C-section) assistance and circulation
  • Collect cord samples
  • Couplet Care
  • Dilation and Curettage (D & C)
  • Drawing venous blood
  • Epidural Anesthesia management
  • Episiotomy/Incisional Care
  • Foley catheter insertion/management
  • Fundus, lochia, and perineum care
  • General Anesthesia management
  • High-Risk Antepartum care
  • ID/Security Banding
  • Insulin drips management
  • Labor & Delivery support
  • Magnesium Sulfate therapy
  • Mother/Baby care
  • Multiple Births management
  • Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome care
  • Newborn Assessment
  • Newborn hypoglycemia management
  • Nitrous Oxide administration
  • Non-Stress Tests (NST)
  • Oxytocin Challenge Tests (OCT)
  • Pain assessment & management
  • Pitocin (oxytocin) administration
  • Postpartum Hemorrhage management
  • Pregnancy-induced hypertension care
  • Prostaglandins administration
  • Radiant Warmers/Thermoregulation
  • Baby-friendly protocols
  • Facility births/month: 100-200
  • Recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
  • Recover C-Section patients
  • Reflex checks, edema assessment, clonus
  • Starting and maintaining IVs
  • Terbutaline administration
  • Thermoregulation
  • Tubal Ligation assistance
  • Use of EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring)
  • Use of External Fetal Monitoring
  • Use of infusion pumps, drips, and IV monitoring
  • Use of Internal Fetal Monitoring
  • Use of PCA (IV)
  • Vaginal Delivery assistance
  • Wound assessment/care

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience as a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
  • FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring) certification
  • WA State License or Compact License
  • Experience with Epic charting system

Facility & Unit Information

This position is at an acute care hospital with 579 beds. The facility accepts compact licenses and has the following patient ratios:

  • Nights: 1:1
  • Weekends: 1:1-2

Pay

$3,082.16 to $3,275.08 weekly, including taxable wages and tax-free expense reimbursements.

Schedule

  • 13-week assignment
  • 4 days per week, 12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:30)
  • Start Date: 08/31/2026
