About the role

This is a 13-week travel assignment with night shifts (19:00 - 07:30) on a 3x12-hour schedule. The position starts on 09/21/2026, and the charting system used is Cerner.

Responsibilities

• Administration of blood & blood products
• Amnioinfusion
• Administration of antihypertensives
• APGAR scores assessment
• Assist with vaginal delivery
• Baby Nurse (“Baby Catcher”)
• Bladder distension management
• Cesarean section assistance and circulation
• Collect cord samples and provide cord care
• Couplet care
• Discharge teaching to parents
• Episiotomy/incisional care
• Foley catheter insertion/management
• Forceps/vacuum extraction assistance
• Fundus, lochia, and perineum care
• Hemorrhage/shock management
• ID/security banding and infant identification
• Isolation precautions/PPE
• Labor & delivery support
• Level I nursery care
• Magnesium sulfate therapy
• Mother/baby care
• Neonatal resuscitation
• Newborn assessment and hypoglycemia management
• Non-stress tests (NST)
• Assist with circumcision and assess post-op site
• Baby-friendly protocols and car seat education
• Drawing venous blood
• LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) care
• Malpresentations (breech/face/brow) management
• Metabolic screen
• Multiple births and gestation care
• Neonatal abstinence syndrome management
• Placenta previa/abruptio care
• Phototherapy
• Pitocin (oxytocin) administration
• Postpartum hemorrhage management
• Pre-eclampsia/eclampsia and pregnancy-induced hypertension care
• Premature rupture of membranes and preterm labor management
• Prostaglandins administration
• Radiant warmers/thermoregulation
• Recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Recover C-section patients
• Reflex checks, edema assessment, and clonus evaluation
• Starting and maintaining IVs
• Sterile vaginal exams
• Terbutaline administration
• Thermoregulation
• Triage of obstetrical patients
• Use of EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring) and internal fetal monitoring
• Use of infusion pumps, drips, and IV monitoring
• Substance abuse screening and management
• Teach circumcision care to parents
• Use of electric/manual breast pumps
• Uterine rupture management
• VBAC management/trial of labor
• Vaccine administration
• Vaginal delivery assistance
• Wound assessment and care

Requirements

• 1 year of experience as a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse
• Active TN license or Compact License
• ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications
• Travel experience required

Pay

Weekly pay ranges from $2,070 to $2,263, including taxable wages and tax-free expense reimbursements.

Schedule

Night shifts on a 3x12-hour schedule (19:00 - 07:30).
