About the role

LDRP / Women’s Services RN position in Elko, Nevada. 36 guaranteed hours per week with no call. This LDRP model covers Labor & Delivery, Recovery, Triage, Postpartum, and Nursery. Potential to float to other departments based on census and facility needs. Centricity / MEDHOST charting system in use.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for spontaneous vaginal deliveries (SVD) – no VBAC
• Manage OB triage and perform nonstress tests (NST)
• Deliver postpartum care and couplet care
• Provide Level I nursery and newborn care
• Monitor and intervene with fetal heart patterns
• Manage obstetric hemorrhage, pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, and hypertensive crises

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
• Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring certification
• ADN or BSN

Unit Details

• 15 beds total: 6 L&D beds and 9 Postpartum beds
• Ratios follow AWHONN standards
• Patient population: adults and newborns
• Level I nursery
• Common cases: antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, inductions, C-sections, pre-eclampsia, and neonatal hyperbilirubinemia
• Equipment: Baxter pumps, Omnicell, Masimo monitors, and GE Centricity fetal monitoring

Travel / Local Rule

Must live more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify as a traveler. Locals accepted at a reduced rate.

Elko, Nevada is approximately 3 hours from Salt Lake City and close to the Ruby Mountains. Excellent access to outdoor recreation including hiking, fishing, cycling, skiing, and snowshoeing.
