About the role
Travel assignment for a Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse in Bismarck, North Dakota. Contract length is 13 weeks, starting 11/16/2026. Schedule is 3 shifts per week, 36 hours total, primarily 12‑hour night shifts with some day shifts required. Charting is done in EPIC. The unit has 19 rooms. The nurse may float to the newborn nursery and NICU as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to labor and delivery patients, including high‑risk patients
- Assist with labor, delivery, and fetal monitoring
- Provide postpartum care for mothers and newborns
- Provide gynecological surgical postoperative care
- Support the newborn nursery and NICU as needed
Patient ratios
- L&D: 1:1 or 1:2
- Mother/Baby Couplets: 1:3
- Gynecology: up to 4 patients
- Combined Mother/Baby and Gynecology: 1:5‑6
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of L&D experience
- Experience in postpartum, mother/baby, and gynecological care
- Fetal monitoring experience
- Willingness to work nights and some day shifts
- Willingness to float to the newborn nursery and NICU
Certifications
- BLS
- ACLS
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Preferred: STABLE certification
Pay
- Gross pay (weekly): $2,700
- Taxable pay (weekly): $1,433
- Non‑taxable pay (weekly): $1,267
Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
