About the Role
Modern Healthcare Solutions is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Hackensack, New Jersey.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients and assist physicians with patient care.
- Plan, implement, and document nursing care based on patients' needs.
- Identify patient needs and determine priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized plans of care for assigned patients through initial and ongoing assessments.
- Initiate assessments based on patients' problems or needs, physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
- Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage care of patients.
- Document care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
- Advocate for evidence-based practice care standards, supporting the adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
- Provide patient-centric care in alignment with the professional nursing practice model.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- One (1)+ year of experience in related specialty.
- Greater than two (2) years in labor and delivery is required.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
- BLS - AHA certification.
- New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
- NRP certification.
- EFM certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Greater than four (4) years in labor and delivery.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- ACLS - AHA certification.
Required Skills
- Phlebotomy and IV insertion.
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM).
- Vaginal exams.
- Circulating in operating room for c-sections.
- Assistance with instrumental deliveries.
Schedule
- 12-hour night shifts.
- 36 hours per week.
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend.
- Holiday requirement: No.
- Float requirement: No.
