Travel L&D RN - $2,155 per week

About the Role

Malone Healthcare is seeking a Travel Nurse RN specializing in Labor and Delivery for a 13-week assignment in Dickson, Tennessee. This position involves 36 hours per week on a 12-hour day shift.

Unit Specifics

• Number of Beds: LDRP (9 beds), OBED (1 bed), NICU (4 beds), 1 OR suite
• Patient Ratios:
  • 1:1 for active labors, inductions, C-sections, couplet care
  • 1:3 for stable newborns
  • 1:1 for unstable newborns until stable
  • 1:3 for NICU intermediate care (2 NICU nurses required in the unit if patients are present)
• Unit staffing: No techs or unit secretaries available
• Equipment: CPN Central monitoring, IV pumps, infant warmers, tele-med robot for neonatologist, bili-blankets, PCA pumps
• Documentation system: Meditech and CPN
• Scheduling requirements: Full-time (3 shifts per week), rotating weekends and holidays, PRN shifts to complete staffing needs
• Floating policy: Regular staff may float within the facility if not needed on the unit; some staff cross-trained between LDRP & NICU
• Patient Experience requirements: Daily and safety rounding on all patients

Hospital Specifics

• Certifications: Joint Commission, Stroke Center, Level II Trauma, Level II NICU

Responsibilities

• Labor and delivery experience, including laboring and recovering mothers
• Newborn reception and transition, including assessment
• Experience with shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, and other OB emergencies preferred
• Fetal monitoring, inductions (Pitocin, Cervidil)
• Procedures performed: C-sections, circumcisions, intra-uterine monitoring, vacuum or forceps-assisted deliveries

Requirements

• 2+ years of Labor and Delivery experience
• Certifications Required: BLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring training
• Dress Code: Pink and/or brown scrubs (required per infant security policy)
