About the role

Travel L&D RN needed to start ASAP for 13 weeks in a hospital located in McAllen, Texas. Circulating for C/Sections, BTLs, D&Cs, epidural initiation, and care of patients. NRP and BCLS required. Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course or the Health Stream Advanced FMC (current within the past 2 years is preferred; the hospital will set up a class if needed).

Responsibilities

• Care for antepartum patients
• Administer, monitor, and manage patients receiving Pitocin, Cytotec, Magnesium Sulfate
• Recover patients post-op and post spontaneous vaginal delivery (SVD)
• Care for patients with PIH, abruptio placenta, preterm labor (PTL), Diabetes Mellitus, Gestational Diabetes
• Assist with vacuum extraction and forceps delivery
• Handle emergency situations and deliveries
• Connect and calibrate internal monitors/leads
• Perform perineal and abdominal prep
• Manage multiple gestation and malpresentation cases
• Assess preeclampsia and perform Apgar scoring
• Collect cord blood gas samples
• Assist with vaginal deliveries (VD)
• Assist with placement of intrauterine pressure catheters (IUPC) and interpret Montevideo units (MVUs)
• Assist with high-risk patients and deliveries
• Perform sterile vaginal exams
• Insert Foley catheters
• Computer documentation

Requirements

• NRP certification
• BCLS certification
• Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course or Health Stream Advanced FMC (current within the past 2 years preferred)
