Travel IV Vascular Access RN - $2,260 per week

Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN specializing in Vascular Access for an assignment in Portland, Oregon.

About the Role

This position involves providing specialized vascular access and IV therapy services with an emphasis on PICC insertions and patient care for adult, neonatal, and geriatric populations. The role requires adherence to clinical protocols and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to deliver quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform vascular access procedures, including PICC insertions
• Provide IV therapy services for adult, neonatal, and geriatric patients
• Adhere to clinical protocols and aseptic technique
• Conduct procedural time outs, device stabilization, dressing changes, flushing, insertion, patency assessment, and site assessment
• Perform ultrasound-guided peripheral venous access
• Manage complications such as infection, thrombosis, and embolism
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Float between vascular access and IV teams as needed

Schedule

• 13-week assignment starting 09/14/2026
• Night shift, 12 hours per shift
• Minimum 36 hours per week
• Must work every other weekend and three of the five major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day)
• No on-call required

Requirements

• Valid state RN license
• At least 1 year of experience in vascular access or IV therapy
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience with adult inpatient care, indications/contraindications, and management of complications

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a community hospital setting
• Familiarity with Epic charting system
• Prior travel or mission experience

Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
