About the role

This travel position involves a day shift schedule of 4-10 hour days, with a requirement for weekday and weekend call. The shift runs from 7 AM to 5:30 PM. The Radiologic Technologist independently performs imaging procedures, utilizing ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. This role requires technical expertise, independent judgment, and effective patient interaction to ensure high-quality imaging and patient safety.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate proper positioning and appropriate radiographic techniques for all interventional procedures.
  • Understand correct patient preparation, equipment operations, and patient monitoring systems.
  • Support other departments by performing general radiographic procedures as needed.
  • Maintain aseptic technique during procedures and ensure patient safety through a time-out process.
  • Administer contrast per assigned protocols under the proceduralist’s direction.
  • Interact compassionately with patients and co-workers, demonstrating dignity and respect.
  • Work collaboratively within the department and across departments to expedite patient care.
  • Communicate instructions clearly to alleviate patient anxiety and solicit cooperation.
  • Accurately identify all patients using two patient identifiers and follow universal protocols.
  • Review patient history and assess physician orders, applying specific departmental protocols.
  • Document patient history in the electronic record as required.
  • Ensure all exams are properly coded, tracked, and charged, and that they are networked for archiving.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, in accordance with system-wide competencies.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or an accredited program in invasive cardiovascular technology.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • ARRT Certificate or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • State licensure relevant to the performing location is required (e.g., PA, NY, MD).

Pay

Pay package is based on 10 hour shifts and 40.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
