About the role
This is a 13-week travel contract position for a Radiologic Technologist. The role involves independently performing imaging procedures and executing a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate proper positioning and appropriate radiographic techniques for all interventional procedures.
- Exhibit a clear understanding of correct patient preparation, equipment operations, and patient monitoring systems.
- Support other departments performing general radiographic procedures as needed.
- Foster an environment that supports aseptic technique during procedures and incorporates a time-out process for patient safety.
- Administer contrast in accordance with assigned protocols under the direction of the proceduralist.
- Display strong interaction skills with both patients and co-workers, demonstrating caring, listening, dignity, and respect.
- Work as a team member within the department and with other departments to expedite patient care efficiently.
- Communicate instructions to patients clearly and concisely to help alleviate their fears and solicit cooperation.
- Utilize two patient identifiers to ensure proper identification and apply universal protocol when performing procedures.
- Review patient history and assess physician orders, applying departmental protocols for optimal results.
- Document patient history in the electronic record as required.
- Ensure all exams within the area of responsibility are properly coded, tracked, and entered for billing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or an accredited program in invasive cardiovascular technology.
- 2 years of experience is required.
- ARRT Certificate or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Compliance with PA Acts 31, 33, 34, and 73.
Schedule
- 40 hours per week
- 10-hour day shifts (07:00:00 - 17:00:00)
