About the role
American Traveler is seeking a travel Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13-week assignment at an academic medical center in St. Louis, MO.
Responsibilities
- Work in an Interventional Radiology unit at a 356-bed nonprofit academic medical center and tertiary care facility affiliated with a major medical school
- Inpatient, outpatient, and adult ICU patient populations
- 4x10 hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- On-call rotation averaging 10 days per month, including weekends
- No floating required outside of assigned unit
- Epic EMR experience required
- Equipment includes PACS, C-arm, Siemens imaging systems, CT, injector systems (ACIST preferred), micro catheters, micro wires, snare kits, and pushable/detachable coils
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience required
- ARRT (R) and BLS required; ARRT Advanced Certification preferred
- Teaching hospital experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Experience in outpatient, inpatient, and adult ICU settings required
- Proficiency with PACS, C-arm, contrast agents, and biopsies required
- Experience with stents, angioplasty, angiograms, paracentesis, thoracentesis, nephrograms, peripherals, biopsies, drainages, vascular studies, venous access, neuro studies, GU, abdominal, pelvic, and upper/lower extremity procedures required
- Ability to perform CT scans during IR procedures required
- Ability to deploy pushable/detachable coils and use micro catheters, micro wires, and snare kits required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Candidates must reside more than 70 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Licenses required if applicable
- Two professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration

- Procedures include angioplasty, carotid stenting, embolization, TIPS, IVC filter placement, endovascular interventions, ERCP, gastrostomy tube placement, chest tube placement, liver biopsy/ablations, paracentesis, thoracentesis, fistulograms, declots, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, vertebroplasty, kyphoplasty, nephrostomy, and upper/lower extremity angiography
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility as a traveler must take a 6-month break before returning
- RTO requests must be submitted with the initial application; additional requests after confirmation are at the manager's discretion
- Pre-start orientation modules are required and take approximately 1 hour for allied health professionals
- Fit testing is required; candidates must be clean-shaven for mask seal — CAPRs and PAPRs are not provided or permitted, and no medical or religious exemptions are accepted
- Scrubs are provided; parking is available onsite at no cost
