About the Role
TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Interventional Radiology Technologist for a travel job in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This is a 13-week travel position with 40 hours per week, 10-hour day shifts.
Responsibilities
- Operate fluoroscopic equipment and assist physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures
- Confirm patient identification, review imaging requests, and explain procedures to patients providing reassurance and support as required
- Assist in scrubbing all diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Monitor patients during all procedures
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of radiation protection standards, devices, and techniques on patient and operator exposure to assure adequate safeguards are maintained
- Demonstrate knowledge of physiology and anatomy, including the location, appearance and function of various major and minor systems susceptible to radiologic exposure and the physical abnormalities with most diseases or lesions customarily depicted by procedures performed in the IR Clinic
- Demonstrate knowledge required to operate intravenous (I.V.) and dye injector pumps
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Understand and use the McKesson PACS system
Requirements
- 1 year of recent acute care experience
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- ARRT (R) National Certification
- State-specific licensing when required
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
- Vascular Interventional (VI) certificate preferred
- Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment
