About the role

Travel Interventional Radiology Technologist position in Des Moines, Iowa. Assignment starts 09/08/2026, lasts 13 weeks, with 40 hours per week on a flexible 10-hour shift schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Verify patient identity and procedure details; prepare and position patients, explaining processes and addressing concerns.
  • Assess patient medical history to ensure safety during procedures.
  • Operate imaging equipment (X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound) during procedures, adjusting settings for optimal image quality.
  • Assist in sterile setup and maintenance of equipment; document imaging and procedure details, including patient data and technical parameters.
  • Clean, sterilize, and maintain interventional procedure equipment; ensure all supplies and tools are available.
  • Troubleshoot and report malfunctioning equipment.
  • Assist in post-procedure care and monitoring; prepare and administer contrast agents as directed.
  • Monitor patient vital signs during procedures; collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and comfort.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including radiation protection, and follow institutional policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of procedures and patient outcomes; adhere to patient confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Stay current with new techniques and technologies in interventional radiology; participate in continuing education and training.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.
  • Certification in radiologic technology (RT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Additional certification in Interventional Radiology (IR) preferred (e.g., ARRT(IR)).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • State-specific licensure and certification as required (e.g., California, Florida, New York, Texas, Massachusetts).

Pay

Pay package is based on 10-hour shifts and 40 hours per week, including a tax-free stipend (amount to be determined).
